On Wednesday 6th December, Hannah had the great honour of attending the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony and reception at 10 Downing Street, by invitation of Prime Minister Theresa May.

Hannah was part of a group of special young people, all being honoured for their bravery, kindness and contribution to their communities. There were also some Blue Peter presenters there, but Hannah was too nervous to talk to them!

We enjoyed lovely food, and the amazing treat of seeing inside Number 10, including a walk up the famous staircase, seeing all the portraits of past prime Ministers as we went. Hannah had her photo taken in front of Number 10’s beautiful tree in the reception room. The Prime Minister said hello too!

We went outside for the tree lighting, and sang carols with Mrs May and a children’s choir. Then there was lovely hot chocolate to enjoy before we went home. Hannah has described it as “something I will never forget, no matter what. I would love to go back again!”

On top of all this, we also had a great, fun day exploring London!
