In November, Hannah has been collecting advent calendars and sweet treats for Scott House at the Freeman Hospital, and Crawford House at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (both in Newcastle).
These are on site accommodation run by the Sick Children’s Trust, for families of seriously ill children at two of the region’s major hospitals. Some families can be there for weeks or months at a time, so a comfy bedroom, ensuite shower room, relaxing lounge area and well equipped kitchen can make all the difference at a worrying and stressful time. Inevitably, some families will have to spend Christmas away from home, so Team HHH thought it would be good to provide a little festive something to show that people are thinking of them.
Hannah collected 23 advent calendars for Crawford House, one for each room.
Hannah also took 19 advent calendars and a very big box of sweet treats to Scott House, and had a little tour of the house, which is only 2 years old and looks after 77 families per month on average
Hannah had lots of amazing help from family and friends, including from Langley First School in Monkseaton, and from the very kind and generous staff at Earsdon Road Co-Op.
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT, and thank you too to the staff of Crawford House and Scott House for welcoming Hannah!
