Hannah’s October project has been to raise money for the North Tyneside charity Out of Sight. Out of Sight are a parent led charity who organise events and activities for children with visual impairments, and their families, in the North Tyneside area. These events have included trips to Kirkley Hall and Blackpool, and lots and lots of exciting parties. Many of the children have other complex disabilities, and OOS gives them a chance to meet up, make friends and have fun in a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Hannah and her brother Adam who has partial sight loss, love their Out of Sight friends!
Out of Sight are currently fundraising for a wheelchair accessible caravan for the use of members, name Chloe’s Den after a much loved young lady who sadly passed away at the age of just 9. The fund needs £45,000, so Team HHH are very happy to help towards this.
Hannah joined up with the wonderful Tynemouth Gilbert & Sullivan Society (of which she is a patron and two aunts and uncles are members) at their Autumn concert, From Savoy to Saigon to raise money for Out of Sight. Hannah baked delicious cakes to hand out and shook a bucket for donations from the cast and audience, with help from her little cousin Elizabeth. She even met Miss Teen Great Britain and our local MP Alan Campbell (who liked her cakes very much)! The show was a fantastic success and very well attended, and the total raised was £130.
A massive thank you is due to Tynemouth Gilbert and Sullivan Society for welcoming Hannah to their great event and helping her to raise this fantastic total, and to everyone who attended and contributed!
